La quarta edizione della Guida Mare Accessibile censisce servizi e condizioni reali delle strutture balneari. Cresce anche l’ospitalità: sono 137 le strutture ricettive valutate
Una spiaggia può avere una passerella e non consentire di raggiungere il mare. Può dichiararsi accessibile, ma avere servizi non adeguati o nessun ausilio per la balneazione. Perché la parola “accessibile”, da sola, non sempre basta a capire che cosa una persona troverà davvero una volta arrivata.
È da questa esigenza che nasce la Guida Mare Accessibile della Liguria, arrivata nel 2026 alla quarta edizione. Il progetto censisce direttamente le spiagge del territorio e ne verifica servizi e condizioni di accessibilità.
Quest’anno sono 273 quelle classificate come accessibili o ad accessibilità condizionata. Nove sono considerate strutture d’eccellenza per la varietà dei servizi offerti alle persone con disabilità. Ma il censimento è ancora in corso e altre realtà sono già in fase di valutazione: con i prossimi aggiornamenti, il totale dovrebbe avvicinarsi alle 300 spiagge, il numero più alto mai raggiunto dal progetto.
La particolarità della Guida è soprattutto nel metodo. Le verifiche vengono svolte a stagione già iniziata, quando stabilimenti e spiagge sono pienamente operativi, per restituire una fotografia il più possibile vicina all’esperienza reale.
A effettuare buona parte dei sopralluoghi sono stati più di 40 volontari. Il censimento è stato coordinato da AISM, Associazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla, tra le realtà con maggiore esperienza sui temi dell’accessibilità e del turismo accessibile, e ha coinvolto l’Associazione Nazionale della Polizia di Stato, l’Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri, il Comune di Genova e il Club Alpino Italiano, sezione della Spezia. Alla Consulta regionale per la tutela dei diritti della persona con disabilità spetta invece la valutazione dell’idoneità delle strutture da inserire nelle Guide.
Il progetto ha una storia più lunga delle quattro edizioni della pubblicazione. Nel 2006, in Liguria, la spiaggia accessibile censita era una sola. L’idea da cui è nato il percorso attuale ha preso forma nel 2015 grazie a Rosanna Tognoni, ex assistente sociale di Inail. Da allora la rete si è progressivamente ampliata fino ad avvicinarsi alle 300 strutture di oggi.
La crescita più evidente del 2026 riguarda però l’ospitalità. La Guida Alberghi Accessibili, giunta alla seconda edizione, cambia nome e diventa Guida Ospitalità Accessibile, estendendo il censimento anche a ostelli, residenze turistico-alberghiere, case vacanza e campeggi.
Le strutture valutate passano da 67 a 137, con un aumento del 104 per cento in un solo anno. Nelle prossime edizioni il progetto punta a includere anche alberghi diffusi, locande, villaggi turistici e marina resort.
Le due Guide hanno lo stesso obiettivo: offrire informazioni verificate che permettano alle persone di capire se una spiaggia o una struttura ricettiva risponda realmente alle proprie esigenze.
Le pubblicazioni saranno presto disponibili anche in inglese e, per la prima volta, in una versione Easy-to-Read, pensata per rendere più semplice la consultazione dei contenuti e ottimizzata per l’utilizzo di screen reader e altri strumenti di supporto alla lettura.
Nel frattempo il censimento continua. Stabilimenti balneari e strutture ricettive che offrono servizi di accessibilità e non sono ancora presenti nelle Guide possono chiedere di essere valutati e inseriti.
Le Guide sono disponibili in formato digitale sul sitoLamiaLiguria.it, dove possono essere consultate e scaricate.
Vent’anni fa, in Liguria, la spiaggia accessibile censita era una. Oggi l’obiettivo è raggiungere quota 300. Ma il dato più importante è forse un altro: non doversi più accontentare di sapere che una spiaggia si definisce accessibile, ma poter conoscere prima che cosa si troverà una volta arrivati.
